Richard Branson英國維珍航空主席布蘭森（Richard Branson）周三展示太空飛機模型「太空船2」號（SpaceShipTwo），並宣布太空飛機將於今年夏天試飛，明
年首航，旅客只要付20萬美元 （約156萬港元），就可到太空一遊，體驗4分半鐘無重狀態。 布蘭森與太空船設計師魯坦（Burt Rutan）展示了「太空船2」號及它的搭載母船「白武士2」號（White Knight Two）模型。「白武士2」號機翼長43米，以超輕金屬製造；「太空船2」號則長18米，由碳合物料製造，尾部像垂直的魚鰭。維珍太空旅行部主管懷特霍恩表示，兩機的建造工程已接近完成，相信可於今年夏天試飛。已報名參加太空之旅的乘客貝爾蒂娜說﹕「太空飛機看來像雷鳥，就像我們1960年代孩童時所想像的未來一樣。」 明年，「白武士2」號將載「太空船2」號從跑道起飛，當飛到一定高度時，「太空船2」號會脫離母機，直接飛向外太空的亞軌道。此時乘客將可體驗4分半鐘無重狀態，他們會從椅子上浮起，享受前所未有的快感。 「太空船2」號每次可載6名乘客，收費20萬美元（約156萬港元），全程約2.5小時，現已有30多個國家逾200人報名參加，包括物理學家霍金Stephen Hawking ）、香港首名女機師高佩雲、設計師斯塔克（Philippe Starck）等。 P.S Richard Branson永遠都有一種非一般富豪所擁有的魅力與氣派~超型!
